5am Cruising

I just took my father to the airport.

Because my sleep schedule has been so messed up, it just made sense for me to do taxi duty.

On the way down to LAX, traffic was super light (because it's freaking 5am).  We hopped on the 10 West, 405 South, exited Century, all that good stuff.  On the way back, I got back onto the 405 North - but got distracted by a bunch of flashing lights.  As I emerged onto the freeway, I saw maybe 7 or 8 fire trucks, all flashing super bright, and about 4 or 5 Highway Patrol cars flashing their lights as well.  Then I saw about 3 ambulances making their way towards the sight.  According to SigAlert, it looks like it was a collision.  If my dad and I had left maybe 10 minutes later than we did, we would've have either been stuck in the traffic due to Highway Patrol stopping everything, or we would've been in the accident.  Thank God we left when we did.

Then on the 10 East, a car drifted into my lane and almost hit me.
Shit.
Driving at 5am is not a good thing.  Well, nothing at 5am is never a good thing [unless it is either sleep or McDonald's breakfast].

Memorabilia

I found an old shoebox in my room labeled "Memorabilia." There were some interesting things in there - I had some old corsages from high school dances, random ribbons ranging from 4th grade until high school, dodger tickets, birthday cards, and other assorted items.

Oh yesssss. My braces. I got braces right before I started High School. They definitely helped me look cool as I started High School. I remember I got pink and silver bands around the brackets on my first set of braces. Sigh, what a fool I was. I finally got them off halfway through my junior year. I remember one of my friends saying, "Damn Charles, you're gonna get so many chicks when you get your braces off." And at the time I said, "You're such an asshole." But now that I look back, he was 100% correct. Thank you braces for eventually upping my value on the market.

This ticket was fun to see again, because this is the game my friends and I got kicked out of. We were sitting in the right field pavilion, known as the All-You-Can-Eat section. It was the first year the AYCE section opened, so we bought a 5-game pack before the season started. I think this was the second or third game in the 5-pack, so going to the AYCE section for games wasn't new to us. Like always, we pre-gamed a little bit in the parking lot, then grubbed our lives away with numerous hot dogs and nachos.

I think around the 7th or 8th inning, the game kinda got feisty, and the benches cleared. The AYCE section was packed because of its popularity, so when the fans saw the players get rowdy, the crowd in the pavilion also got kinda rowdy. And the fact that two or three Brewer fans, sitting in maybe the 5th or 6th row, stood up and flicked off the Dodger crowd. People threw all kinds of shit at them - sodas, hot dogs, trash, popcorn. It was pretty funny and I laughed at them.

But all of a sudden, a soda flies above our heads and hits a Dodger fan lady right in the back of the head. My friends and the people around us kinda have the "Oooooooh shit!"-reaction, and kinda have the "HAHAHA she got hit in the dome"-reaction as well.

Well, because this lady got hit, I'm guessing the dude next to her was her husband/boyfriend, so he HAD to get pissed at somebody. The dude sees my friend laughing his ass off and starts walking up to our row and tries to pick a fight. We back up our friend and tell the mofo that we didn't do anything and that he needs to shut the hell up. Eventually security comes, believes the faggot that accused us and kicks us out.

Ahhh such a good memory. The game was getting boring anyway, and we got to leave with no traffic at all. Not everyone can say they got kicked out of a Dodger game (unless they're Mexican).
