Song of the Week

This is my personal favorite MJ song.

Jackson 5 - "ABC"

Summertime

always feels like a test of patience.

So much time in the summer.

Not so many things to do.

Humbled

So, for some strange reason, I had a sense of pride when it came to injuries dealing with ankles. The only time I had hurt my ankle was when someone fell on it during high school football. I never sprained it, broke it, or did anything to it during any activity, especially not in recreational basketball. I thought I was truly gifted with "strong ankles" and that I would be somewhat injury-prone. I always would tell people, confidently, that I rarely injure my ankles. I can play sports for years to come.

How wrong I was.

That is what my ankle looked like at about 1pm today. The area around the round bone sticking out looked like a swollen walnut. I never realized how bony my ankles looked until I got to compare my normal ankle to my swollen ankle. Man, I was in so much pain. I couldn't go to Summer school today because I could barely hobble on it.

I ended up at Good Samaritan, and through the x-ray, they found that I had cracked the outside of my ankle and chipped the inside. =/

So for now, I have my ankle in a soft splint, and I have to use crutches. Tomorrow, I'm going to an Orthopedic, who will determine if I need a cast or just a boot. Either way, I don't think I'm gonna be able to run for like 2-3 weeks minimum. SO SAD.

I have been humbled.

Now I'll go cry.

Respect

"Just remember to credit the Lakers, a slightly flawed team that showed a lot more toughness than many of us (including me) thought they had. They are going to win the 2009 NBA title. And that's that."

Quoted by Bill Simmons, ESPN columnist, and probably the BIGGEST Laker Hater ever. Respect given, where respect is due.

Finals Week

Last Finals week of Sophomore year!

I've been surprisingly very relaxed and in a good mood this entire week. I don't feel stressed, I'm happy, and I've been sleeping plenty. I'm not sure how the test taking has been going.... but I'm happy nonetheless!!

It's strange to be in a non-negative mood during the worst week of the quarter.
Maybe it's because of new things happening in life.
Maybe it's because of my apartment mates and I signing our lease.
Maybe it's because summer is so damn close.
Maybe it's because of family time during Finals.

My professor summed it up the best, as he gave us a word of encouragement before his Final:

"The outcome of this test does NOT affect the rest of my life"

Very well said Professor Winter.
So to all of you who are stressing and being a Negative Nancy, remember that the outcome of one Final will not determine the rest of your life.

Have fun guys!

Song of the Week

Drunken Tiger - "8:45 Heaven"

Koreans got hip hop down. Sick. Some of the dopest beats I've heard too.
