Thanksgiving!

In my opinion, Thanksgiving is the best holiday. The food is good, the meaning of the holiday is purely positive, and it gives students a nice 5 day holiday. Also it's a weekend full of good football games, including TURKEY BOWL. After falling short last year and having to overcome all sorts of obstacles this year, I'm pumped and ready to play this weekend. Feels like I'm back in HS waiting for a game to start. Except this is 3 days before the actual game, and I'm dying from the anticipation. Anyway, I don't think people should get all caught up in football and such, and we should all remember that Thanksgiving is about literally giving thanks for the things in our lives. I hope everyone can keep that in mind during this holiday weekend. Have a happy thanksgiving everyone!

No TGIF

Fridays are awesome.
Throughout my life, Fridays meant only good things.
Pizza on Fridays for lunch at school.
Stay up late on Friday night because there's no school.
Football games on Friday nights.
Parties to go to on Friday nights.
New movies to watch on Fridays.
Nothing to study for on Fridays.

But now, Fridays mean class from 8-1, then work from 1-5.
Even though I don't go to my morning classes anymore, I still have to be responsible until 5. So today is the dreaded day of the week. Hopefully next quarter, I can "manipulate" my schedule to make sure I don't have work on Fridays. And by "manipulate", I mean lie and say I have classes to attend or homeless people to save or babies to deliver. Anything is better than working right now.

I've been at UCLA for little over a year now. Every time I walk through campus, under the trees and past the beautiful brick buildings, I am always amazed at where I'm at. It's such a blessing to be here, and I am always grateful to God for it. A horrible, shitty day can instantly be neutralized by a walk through campus; just breathing in the scenery at UCLA makes me feel at peace. I think a lot of people here take it for granted; being at UCLA is such a blessing, no matter how you look at it. I hope everyone who walks through campus, down Bruinwalk, past Royce and Powell, through the sculpture gardens in North Campus, under the trees in front of Perloff, and even through the tunnel of Math Sciences, has the same thoughts as I do:

"Oh! Nuh-moo muh-shee-ddah!!!"
